Looking for a new cell phone plan? It can be hard to find a plan that’s not offered by the three big carriers – Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T. But many other companies are trying to get your business, some of which are much better at customer service. If you’re looking to score big savings, these lesser-known affordable cell phone plans might be just what you’re looking for.

Tello

If your goal is to find a solid phone plan, check out Tello. You can create a custom plan on their website with unlimited calls, texts, and 1GB of data for $10 per month. This might be useful if you have an old phone or are looking to purchase an unlocked phone that works on several carriers.

US Mobile

If you’re looking for a basic phone plan that doesn’t require you to spend a lot, US Mobile might be right for you. The carrier’s $10-per-month plan comes with 500 minutes of talk, 300 text messages, and 100MB of data. And while US Mobile doesn’t retail phones directly, its SIMs work with Verizon and T-Mobile devices, so your current phone may work with its network.

Consumer Cellular

Consumer Cellular offers a comprehensive senior-focused cellular plan. It may be a tad more pricey than other small companies, but it comes with excellent customer service and coverage. You can expect solid AT&T and T-Mobile coverage across the country if you spend $20 per month on its lowest-cost, sweet-spot plan. If you’re looking to let go of your landline, you can save an extra five bucks by opting for its unlimited plan that comes with 500MB of data.

H2O Wireless

If you’re looking for a basic LTE plan and solid coverage on AT&T’s network, H2O Wireless is a good choice. The carrier’s $20-per-month plan comes with unlimited calls and texts and 2 GB of data. Plus, signing up for autopay can save you $2 per month.

Republic Wireless

Dish’s acquisition of Republic Wireless has made its plans more attractive, particularly its $20-per-month option, which features unlimited talk and text and 1GB of data on T-Mobile’s network. If you want a little more freedom from a single carrier, Republic Wireless offers discounts for those who pay annually.

Mint Mobile

Mint Mobile’s introductory offer is competitive, but it isn’t for everyone. For example, the service costs $15 per month and requires a three-month commitment. You must pay for an entire year if you want to keep the $15 per month rate for service in the future.
